For: The Institute Of Contemporary And Emerging Worship Studies, St. Stephens University, Essentials Blue Online Worship Theology Course with Dan Wilt“
This is my project for the Essentilas Blue Course.
I have found it difficult to condense all I’ve learned into a couple of verses of a song. However, there are two themes that have captured my thoughts – ‘Gods justice’ and the ‘Kingdom of God’.
The start of the song (Psalm 119:73) reminds me that my source is God. I am created by Him and am subject to His authority, therefore I serve Him. For some reason He also loves me. The combination of all these truths leave me with a longing to see His Kingdom in my life. I am also left with a longing for justice, to see wrongs made right which I know happen in His Kingdom.
As a worship leader my awareness of who I am in relation to God has been heightened by this course and makes me feel humble before Him. I also have a new confidence that in worship I become closer to what I was created to be.
Andrew
great job man, loving that chorus!
Great song Andrew! Looks like we chose the same title. Great voice and playing as well! Very raw and impassioned in its expression. Worshipers will be inspired to walk in what the song encourages! Great job!
Captivating song Andrew! I got lost in it, in a good way.
Hi Andrew
I love it! Your lyrics are speaking of what Matt Redman said, “When you get some of the Father’s heart for you, you’re going to get some of His heart for the lost as well. When you see something of God’s glory, you’re going to care that He’s not glorified in the whole world. In worship, God captures your heart; when He’s got it, then the real work can begin.” You’re singing of what God’s done for you and what you’d like to see Him for others – it’s really a song about longing for His justice in the world!
Well done!!
BTW – sounds like a hint of Oasis in that melody… nice!
Great song. I especially like the melody at the beginning of the chorus where you say, “You are the God who rescues me”.
After doing this course, the theme of God’s Kingdom coming to earth means more to me than ever before. Songs that speak of God’s kingdom and express our desire for God’s Kingdom to come are so relevant. Thanks.

I heard your song and all day the line, “Lord, let your kingdom come” has been ringing through my head. Beautiful!
